Episode 2, Season 2 - “The Messenger”
Frank & Denise: or rather just Denise since Frank was MIA this episode. I knew Denise was going to get her motorcycle. I saw Katherine Belle give an interview so I had some info on that already. She rides in real life. The next episode will be interesting. I knew Frank was going to have a say about it. And seriously, Officer Wives are on their toes a bit (or at least that’s what I like to think but have yet seen it happen), but I don’t think her riding a motorcycle is a big deal. For T.V. it’s interesting though.
Michael & C.J.: Well I hope this wraps the bombing episode up. I know that sounds cold but I just did not get into that story line in the first place. Sitting around with Casey and a few friends last night we all knew right off that the old man was supposed to be “god”. I wasn’t expecting it to be the little boys friend however. Am I the only one that didn’t think the entire little date thing was cute? Am I just all out mean? Why did C.J. order shrimp? I am not liking her character much this season. I guess I am just mean.
Emily’s storyline opened up the teaching me to drive a stick. Why am I such a baby…
Pam & Chase: Well here’s Chase just coming and going as he pleases… LOL. I enjoy Pam and Chases’ story line. It feels real to me. Army Wives has touched a few times on the emotions of children going through the military life and I am glad that they do. Children are often forgotten and the older they get the less programs there are for them. It just stops once Jr. High hits. The schools just think they should handle it by that age and we all forget that’s the age they need it the most. Anyway back to the storyline it sucks that Chase has to leave but I am so glad they changed his character from the selfish ass we were introduced to, to this caring family man. I *squish* them.
Roxy & Trevor: Roxy is great. I wish I had her no nonsense attitude when my father was here. I totally get her situation right now dealing with somebody who just sits around feeling sorry for themselves and snapping at the children while you’re trying to deal with the emotions of a deployment. And there are those who say Army Wives isn’t like real life. Well we don’t all live the same life so for some of us it hits the nail right on.
It was good for Betty got to see the military family from a different angle than from the veiw of a bar owner in a military town. I suppose that could make anybody jaded. She could play grandma since Roxy’s mom sucks! It was also good to see Trevor. His character is so “Aww Shucks” don’t you think?
Roland & Joan: Joan also MIA, didn’t care. Roland is what, the new teen counselor on post? Do you think this might give him opportunity to open his own practice? I like that he’s helping the teens, and I loved the confused teen boy at the end, that gave us all a good laugh. It would be nice if there was a real group to help older children deal with all of this. I wonder if there is and I just don’t know about it. Something to look up.
So all in all it was a wrap up and a set up show. Nothing actually happened. I didn’t have any strong emotions other than when Chase was talking with his daughter. I could see one of the girls behaving that way. Heck I could see myself hiding Casey’s keys the day of. Too sad to think about right now.
